Photo download issue (1000 images)

Aloha Zane,

I have made several larger maps through the years, but am getting an error (circle with line) and unable to upload the photos.  I am entering them in three batches.  Today is December 31, 2024.  Maybe if I wait until the new year, it will work!?

Thanks,

Rebecca

You have lots of jobs in your account so it shouldn't be the stuff posted below. You have 4105 points in your account which should be enough to upload 20.5 gigapixels worth of imagery on top of the 3 gigapixels that comes with your subscription. That is enough to process 1175 images. You could use one of the downscaling options in Step 2 of the uploader to double or quadruple that but it would be run at lower resolution.

If that doesn't help please post a screenshot of what you are seeing.

For others finding this for Photo Upload Limit issues, please read here:

We are sorry to hear you are having issues uploading your imagery. We throttle the number of files new users can upload to discourage running large amounts of data through the system before you have run smaller works through first. It is important to know what works and what doesn't before you spend a lot of points.

The maximum number of images that can be uploaded to the system goes up as you process more maps. To start, the maximum is the greater of 600 or 300 images per map you have run. For example, to run a 1000 image map you would need to have at least 4 maps processed first.

You can see this in Step 4 of the upload where is says the following:

"Maximum goes up 300 images for each map that gets processed up to the maximum of 4000."

We encourage you to run increasingly complex jobs to learn your way around the system but you would technically be able to continue with your intended dataset as long as you have the required number of maps in the system. They can be free/small if needed.

I have been a premium subscriber for a few years and I am now having the same problem.

Dylan: There are lots of limitations on what can be uploaded for use with the DJI workflow. You should be getting some sort of message that tells you what is wrong with the images you are trying to upload. If you continue to have issues please email us a sample image that is unable to be selected and we can take a look at it for you.

Also, you could try using a different browser to see if you get different results. If this fixes things please let us know what wasn't working and what worked.

I have attached some screenshots. When I hover over upload I also get the error circle. I proceeded to try the map and it ended up missing a big section due to not have all of images. All these images are the same and taken during the same flight mission. You can see that when  dragging the 354 photos it only registers as 224 images.

Maybe try hitting the blue + document icon and select the images instead of dragging.

To be clear, you are not getting any red popups or messages?

If this fails we will issue points so you can use the Classic workflow to get you going. Then we will have the image set to test with.

Hitting the + also didn't work.

And no pop ups or error messages are showing.

I seen where points were issued, I will try the classic workflow.

Sorry about that. I didn't notice it was the M3E. We have to block high angle data from the M3E because of the lookback option people like to use sometimes in the DJI app. In order to upload that you will need to open the Javascript console when the Classic workflow page opens and type "override = true;". Then you will be able to select those images.

I dont have enough points to process, should I drop some images for this test?

We are glad to see you got it running with the Classic Workflow. The good news is we were able to pull the dataset and see the same issue. That means we will be able to fix it whatever it is. We should have something out by the end of the day.

Apparently this is already fixed! It looks like the size of the headers in some your files are larger than they used to be so we had to increase the amount of data being looked at for the tag data.

Screenshot showing that all of your 354 images are being loaded properly.

That all being said, these images have a bunch of bare trees and are taken right at solar noon so you might want to revisit some of your data collection practices.

I appreciate the help, I have now started another job and it seems to be working fine.

Zane-Thanks for the reply.  Yes, I tried again and I am still getting an error and unable to upload.  Here is a screenshot.  It is only this particular job though.  This is a screenshot of just two batches of photos.  There is a third batch to go in, bringing it to over 1000 photos.  I made another map last night (much smaller though) and it worked fine.

Also, some of the photos had the same number tag so I relabeled with a parenthesis. DJI_1679(612).JPG for example.  It was accepted in, but perhaps still may be an issue?  Also,  just to troubleshoot, I entered two batches of photos without parenthesis and it also did not work--unable to upload. The sunspots (red dots) have never been an issue in the past, and are at the edges.  The photos were taken under cloud cover.

Thanks,

Rebecca

I knew Dylan had a different issue than you. Try putting all of your images into the same folder before selecting them to upload. Be sure that they can all exist in the same folder first. Be careful not to permanently overwrite anything or lose any data.

The red dots in the map at the bottom of the uploader page are ones where the aircraft turned. They can only be a certain percentage of the images that are uploaded. Click on them for details.

Zane-I ended up flying the job again (it needed to be updated anyway) and all of my photos went in just fine (1000+) and the map has been made and given to the client.  Thank you!
