Maps Made Easy Features

Hello. I need to know the following about Maps Made Easy: 1. If I can make orthomosaics with RGB and IR images.
2. What are the minimum technical requirements (GSD and overlapping) established by Mas Made Easy.
3 Find out about the compatibility of Maps Made Easy with DJI M3T and DJI Air 2S drones. Thanks a lot.

1. Yes on RGB. Depends what IR you are using. Thermal doesn't generally work.

2. 75% should be considered the minimum overlap. We recommend using 80%. You can use as little as 20% when making a Flat Map.

3. The Mavic 3 Enterprise Thermal is supported but none non-enterprise Mavic 3 series is supported because DJI doesn't offer 3rd party app support for those. The Air 2S is supported.

Hi. Thank you for your answers. By the way, regarding response No. 1, do you know what is required for a thermal orthomosaic to be obtained? Cheers!

For thermal orthos to work well you either need to have a super accurate color/temperature pairing (not common) or be dealing in raw calibrated temperature numbers (also not common).

Hi Zane. Thanks again. Just to be sure. The point is, we work with DJI M3T UAVs and we want to know if the IR images taken by this drone comply with MapsMadeEasy standards to create an IR orthomosaic.

On the other hand, once we have an IR orthomosaic created on MapsMadeEasy, is it possible to download it in .GeoTIFF & .KML/ KMZ format file? Thanks a lot.

They do not. You can collect images using as close to ISO thermal images as possible and use the Flat Map system but the coloration differences and the limited resolution make it so we don't process those images.
