Mapbox doing away with editing classic.

I noticed this when I was logging into Mapbox

Mapbox Editor projects will become read-only on January 31st. You can now export GeoJSON and KML from your Mapbox Editor projects on this page and we recommend transitioning to the new dataset editor.

Since we will no longer be able to edit maps, like I do all the time. Will a new way be implemented when this goes away?

Thanks

Erik

We are aware of this and will be changing the map caching system over to use their new stuff in the next month or so.

So when you update this will you be using a URL instead of the map id?  The problem I'm running into is I can't figure out how to get my aerial that I've processed into the classic version because it doesn't take a .tiff file.  I don't know how to get my .tiff into any of the versions they want.  Every time I have tried to convert it, and upload it gives me an error message.  I have been able to get my .tiff into the map studio version, but the map styles just give you a URL instead of a map ID.  Is there any way I can get my .tiff into the classic, or some way I can get the URL to work?

Classic takes Geotiffs pretty readily. We can't change what they will and won't accept though. Using a URL is a completely different system and will require a big update on our part. It is scheduled for early January.

Can you tell me how to get a geotiff into the classic version?  Do you import it under data, or is it somewhere else?  The only file types I see under data are the geojson, csv, kml, or gpx.  Thanks.

Well... You seem to be correct. Mapbox did previously allow this and all of our existing projects that used that feature are still there but you can no longer add "layers". That is pretty crappy that they took out some of the features early...

Boo!
