Same flight three times. But 149 Pix, then 53, then 83

Thanks for taking a look out at this...

I have a Mavic 2 that I've used to fly the same flight path three times. The first flight (2/14/24) had 149 pix including the ground control and it looks perfect. https://www.mapsmadeeasy.com/maps/public/d083c759a2704fe1b3f91b71eebf1753/

The second one (2/24/24) had only 53 pix. I didn't even bother uploading that one.

The third one from today (2/29/24) had 83 pix. I uploaded it and was surprised at how well it turned out but there are a couple of holes. https://www.mapsmadeeasy.com/maps/public/22ca4b10bb57437e846f0d8baa0ce253/

The SD card is less than half full. It's a SanDisk Extreme that I've used before with no issues. Watching the flight path during the flight it looks like it's taking photos in a regular pattern.

Any fixes? Is there some cache or something I need to clear? New SD Card?

This is the overlap report for the one on the 14th:

This is the one from the 29th:

The data for the first one looks fine. The second one is missing a lot of images. It doesn't look like the flight log for today has been synced yet so it is hard to say what actually happened. Sync that and let us know.

But on the 24th the flight looks like it took all of the images OK. It was flown at 76 meters with 80/80 overlap. It is a little weird because it says 227 images were triggered but only 53 were received. That means something is going on in the camera that the files are not getting written. This is a little bit weird because the red dots on the flight detail in MME only shows a few errors. Not 80% of the images. Try flying after using the DJI app to freshly format the SD card.

The good news is that you were pretty lucky and the map was still able to render properly.

Thanks for taking a look...

This morning I did a full (not a quick) reformat on the SD card. When I got to the site, I launched using the DJI4 app and took a photo (on a CrystalSky tablet). I then started the Map Pilot Pro (on an iPad) and flew the same flightpath as before. It looked like it was taking photos just like it was supposed to. It said it took 111 photos.

When I downloaded the images I noticed it didn't take a ground reference photo. Since I was flying from the same spot I used an earlier reference pic.

Please make sure the flights from yesterday and today are synced. They still are not in MME.

I fired up MMP this morning at the office on work's wifi. I have all the sync options turned on, so I guess it's updated the info.

Good afternoon

I'm still having issues with the proper number of photos not being taken with this flight path. The number of images has varied from 186 to 57.

During the flight, it appears the proper number/location of the photos is being taken.

And the pix on the SD card are sequential.

Any thoughts? I did order a new SD card and I'll fly this again as soon as it arrives and weather cooperates.

Thanks

Toney

A lot of stuff has to happen for the grey dot to get drawn in the log viewer. Basically the camera is returning that the image is being taken properly but the filename for the image is not being returned a second or so later. Not sure why this would be happening other than the camera just keep up.

Try changing the SD Card Write speed to one image per 3 seconds in the Settings. If that doesn't fix things change it to one every 4 seconds. Make sure you are formatting your SD card in the DJI app. Hopefully a new SD card will fix this.

One last thing to try would be to use Connectionless mode to see if it gives you any better results.
