12/23 Mavic 2 Firmware update

DJI has noted that automated operation for the Mavic 2 series for some third party apps is not supported in the latest  (12/2023) firmware update.  Is Map Pilot Pro operational after The remote id firmware update has been installed on The Mavic 2 series?

We haven't actually had anyone report that it wasn't working. We were made aware that it might be an issue a few weeks ago but have actually not had any reports related to this issue. We adapted Map Pilot Pro to work with Remote ID a while ago.

Can you share where they noted this?

Responding to an email... I have not seen a direct reference to MME software but DJI announced that the Mavic 2 firmware update will NOT support DJI GS Pro, so I'm not sure where the support is lost, API calls or logic omitted from The firmware  etc.  Thank you

That makes a little bit of sense. They announced that they were going to stop updating GS Pro a while ago. I bet it just didn’t have the most up-to-date stuff in it to deal with remote ID. Not super sure though…

What I do know is that we have done thousands of flights with that aircraft in the last couple of days and have had no issues reported. I just flicked through some of the most recent flight logs that have been uploaded and they seem to have worked fine. Please let us know if you find out for sure!

For posterity: https://dl.djicdn.com/downloads/Mavic_2/20231123/Mavic_2_Pro_Zoom_Release_Notes_en.pdf

The release notes for this firmware release (v01.00.0797) says "DO NOT update to this firmware version if the GS Pro app is being used with the aircraft. Otherwise, the aircraft cannot be used."

We have found multiple successful flight logs in our system that use this firmware. There are lots of users that have not updated but there are some that have and they don't seem to have had any issues flying.
