Blank map output

I just ran a job and got blank output. The link is https://www.mapsmadeeasy.com/maps/public/d15f976254cd41e68fc679834df30cbe. Is it possible that I just need to wait longer? Another option is that there was something wrong with the images. I uploaded pictures from two different flights, but there should have been sufficient overlap.

It looks like the area you uploaded has a lot of trees in it. Only 70 of your 129 were able to be stitched so it is likely that you defined some GCPs in some images that weren't included in the map. If there are not 3 solid anchor points there is nothing to scale it with and it can be whatever rotation minimizes the error between the defined points.

You could probably get this job to work without the GCPs using the EXIF workflow but that won't help the images being included. Overlap is the only thing that can help you here. The bigger the treed area you want to include, the more overlap you should use. the 70% setting in the app is pretty minimal. It would likely work but the trees might not render well. To get an accurate rendering of the trees it helps to use the High 80% or even the Ultra 90% setting.

Based on your other jobs, you clearly know how to use the GCP tool, so it is just an issue of getting the treed areas to be included in the stitch.

I just noticed that when I turn on the elevation data it shows something, but it is in the wrong place and upside down. Maybe I entered the gcps wrong?

So, if I reupload using exif - gps coordinates it might work? Can I get a refund on my points so I can use them again on the new version? Thanks

If you uploaded the images as they are now, you would likely get back about half of your job, but at least it would be usable for some things. The treed area will not likely stitch which is what caused the issue to begin with.

I just re-uploaded it leaving out several of the pictures with only trees.

does the GCP method ignore the exif data? If so, would it be better for me to allow future maps to stitch using the exif data, and then try adjusting the map in Qgis or CAD?

Yes. The stitch happens the same way no matter what. Then the model is georeferenced by either using the EXIF data or the GCPs. Doing fine adjustment in QGIS or CAD would likely be the most accurate option if you know how to do it. That way you can make sure the area you want to be most accurate will work instead of just minimizing the error for the anchor points.
