3D mapping

So, this may have already been covered - sorry if so.

the 3D views in the stitched maps are great - but they are only showing elevation. so my suggestion would be to have the camera sat at a slight angle to pick up the sides of say buildings.

one of the maps that i am currently creating has buildings and I'm assuming that on the 3D view is only going to show the elevation of the roofs - which in itself is great, but it would be even better to be able to see the sides/elevations.

We are currently just processing our models in 2.5D (no overhangs and verticals aren't textured) for creating orthomaps. Creating a full 3D model takes 4 times as much processing. We will be offering full 3D processing soon but it will require a 4X multiplier on the points.

For the Map Pilot app, vertical surfaces will have plenty of oblique viewing angle since the DJI camera field of view is 94 degrees. For users that want to create better full 3D models they will have to handle that on their own.

May I please have the correct setting for producing a 3d map using a mavic pro.   We are doing a smaller area as suggested.

Collect data at 80% overlap or 70% with a full grid. Tip the gimbal up 15 degrees. Make sure everything you want too render gets 20-25 looks.

Use the Full 3D setting in Step 2 of the uploader (even though you probably don't actually need it). Try it first without the Full 3D setting to see how it goes first.
