different cameras for P3

Does the app for the P3 only calculate flights based on the stock camera or can the user define those like in the points estimator?  I would like to use the P3 but remove the factory camera and fly a few missions with other cameras to compare the results.  I understand flight times will vary based on the weight of other cameras but would plan flights accordingly.

Yes. In an effort to keep things user friendly, we try to cover the common cases. The app will not take off if there is no camera attached.

I want to mount on Phantom 3 the16MP sensor from Peau Production. What changes need to be made to the pilot , besides taking into account that the pixel is 30% less ?

Regarding the Peau comment.  I believe the OP meant changing out the lens, not the sensor.

I also have a lens from Peau for the p3 but have not installed it. It is a 4.35mm focal length / 24.8mm (35mm equiv.) lens. As opposed to the 20mm (35mm equiv.) of the stock lens.  I think it would provide superior images for map making.  Perhaps you could allow the focal length to be adjusted in the app.  All other parameters would be the same as the stock lens.

What do you think?

We don't really want to add a bunch of settings that are only used by a handful of people. We have a lot of experience installing 3rd party lenses and it isn't something that we will be supporting in Map Pilot for a lot of different reasons.

If you would like to create flight plans for arbitrary sensor and lens combos you can use our Flight Planner tool and load the KML into one of the other various apps that accept KML inputs for path definition.
