Annotation Labels Not Displaying

My annotation labels have just stopped displaying when I click my maps. The settings are all correct in my maps. Not sure why this happened. I need this functionality to return. Also...I am trying to remove some of my maps from the MME gallery. However, when I click the check box and then select the red X, it just defaults back to the green check.

Wow! Those are some crazy annotations and can see them in your public maps. Don't worry, all your work isn't lost. Some of those annotations are so big that you are probably getting pretty close to the size limit we allow which is probably 250-300 points. I don't thing there is an error that gets reported when you hit it either. We will add one. We never considered anyone ever adding that many points!

What browser are you using when you can't see them? Is it possible that you don't have the public annotations checkbox marked?

To change the state of the check boxes you have to uncheck the box, and then accept the change by clicking on the green check next to it. We know it is a little weird but it is the only way to do it inline without having to have the user submit a form and reload the whole map.

Thanks for getting back to me. I really need to not be limited to such a low number of points on annotations. Is there any way you all can raise the limit to say 750 or even 1,000. This type of work that you've seen is typical for our company. This is a functionality we absolutely have to have.

There are limits to everything. Each annotation is allowed 3000 characters of text to describe it. There are technical reasons for this limitation. Drawing multiple sub polygons instead of a big single one is one way to deal with it. You would then have to add all the sub areas up to get your area total. Another idea to work with what we have is to not be super super precise when drawing your polygons. There are places where you have drawn 20-30 points to capture a somewhat squiggly line where one or two points would like have been sufficient and only made the area calculation off by a could square yards.
