Manual Takeoff Requirement

In the tutorial, you use the term "DJI mandated manual takeoff". since DJI GO has to be closed BEFORE you attempt to connect to DME, please provide more detail or explain how this is done with DJI closed.

This doesn't actually apply any more as of the firmware that was released in December. Generally though, you don't have to have the Go app up in order to fly. The operations we recommend are opening the DJI Go app so it can check for any hardware or calibration issues, fully close the Go app, then open Map Pilot. You can take off manually with Map Pilot and then load the mission while you are in the air. This is something that was required by DJI previously but not anymore.

I am trying to use Tag Pilot on iOS with phantom 4. I have token from Map Pilot loaded. TP connects with drone but I do not see any way to takeoff. Help me out! I use Map Pilot frequently with no issues.

Tag Pilot does not offer automated takeoff. You have to use the sticks. Old school...

Zane, what app is communicating with the drone? Is any other app involved besides TP?
