Mission management functionality

Question on mission management functionality; when I open a saved mission should the map view center on the mission or my current location? Right now it is centering on my current location, but the map tiles don't load because I'm 26 miles from the mission site.

I initially thought there was an issue with my saved mission until I accidentally zoomed out and saw the mission. I actually created the mission several times because I thought it wasn't saving correctly.

When opening a saved mission is there a way a way to set the zoom to a level that shows my current location and the mission location, just a thought.

Thanks,
Kurt

The latest version should center on the middle of the stored map. There was a race condition in the older versions pre 9/30 that made it either the iOS device location or the center of the map.

The saved missions have a very limited zoom so as to not take up too much data storage. There is still a bit of weirdness with displaying the local files. We are working to clean it up.

Showing the local position and the saved mission location could potentially span the entire planet so we probably won't offer that.

Yes, I'm on the 9/31 version and it works as you described. I do see some weirdness if I cycle through the base maps.

Which actually brings me to another question. Are there 3 options of base maps?

Sorry for the delay. Only the "offline" version of the basemap is able to be cached for offline use per Apple's map licensing. The other ones are available as long as you have a data connection. Your area of interest might stay cached with the Apple versions for some amount of time but it isn't guaranteed.
