Connecting Mavic Mini 3 Pro and RC Pro

I am having a new issue with using Map Pilot Pro with my Mavic Mini 3 Pro and RC Pro setup. I have downloaded and installed the APK enterprise file released per the setup instructions found on the website. That worked great for a number of flights.

However, I am now no longer able to launch any mapping projects. After I open a flight mission and then power on my drone, it connects to the Mavic Mini 3 Pro and pops up with the following message:

I have tried switching batteries and still just keep getting the same message. I have tried over and over to no avail. I have even deleted and reinstalled the APK file to install Map Pilot Pro, but nothing seems to work in getting me through this message. Clicking the "battery changed" button only cycles though the "drone detected" and then connected and then back to the same screen shown above.

Any ideas of what is going on?

Interesting... Does everything work if you don't use a saved mission and you just lay one out fresh? What about if you hit the unlock button first?

Zane,

Nope. It does not seem to matter whether I use a saved mission or lay out a new one or unlock the mission. It gives the same message. I was just now able to have enough time for me to "upload" the flight to the drone and launch but it only few a bit into the air and then sat there in the same spot for a 3 minutes. I landed it and then went to launch again was was met with same messages around the battery. These are also a brand new units with less than a couple of hours of total flying use. Way more time spent trying to troubleshoot it for its intended use

What version of Map Pilot Pro are you using? 1.5.3e is the latest for you.

Make sure everything works well using the DJI app and then fully close it before using Map Pilot Pro. New aircraft need some additional setup and updates. Please check the firmware versions listed on the installations page.

Make sure you are touching the sticks at all either. There is basically no need for manual input.

Also make sure the DJI app is closed and disabled in the apps section of the settings on the remote per the instructions on our installation page.

It looks like the firmware I was running for Map Pilot Pro was 1.4.9.e and have now updated the 1.5.3.e as you suggest. The drone itself is running V01.00.0600 as recommended on the website. After updating the MPP firmware I went to test and still get the same popup message. Also made sure to force close the DJI app before opening the MMP app.

I have tried running the drone in the DJI app and all is fine there. No issues connecting and flying around taking pics and vids and such.

Also not touching any of the sticks either. Most of the time the message pops up well before I can begin to select the button to upload the flight data and take off.

Josh,

We would like to fix this, but unfortunately we can not recreate what you are seeing.

Our current set up:
Using the DJI RC Pro and Mini 3 Pro
MapPilotPro 1.5.3e (072520231)
Aircraft Firmware : 01.00.0600
Remote Firmware : 03.02.0400

  1. Please confirm that DJI Fly app is “force stopped” before using Map Pilot Pro (settings -> Apps & Notifications -> DJI Fly -> Force Stop). This is different then removing DJI Fly from the background app queue (swiping the application away while in the multi task view).
  2. Does deleting map pilot and re-installing the 1.5.3e APK file change anything?
  3. You mentioned these are "new units". Is your remote alerting about "bound to another account" when connected to the new drone by chance?

Please let us know if we are missing a step somewhere to recreate the "flight 0" alert. Our steps:

  1. turn on remote
  2. turn on drone
  3. go into the remote settings -> Apps & Notifications -> DJI Fly -> Force stop.
  4. go into Map Pilot Pro -> Create New Mission (there is no left over mission. there is no "unlock" button.)
  5. "found aircraft : mini 3 pro" alert appears
  6. make mission, upload, fly first flight and "return to home"
  7. fly secondary flights after battery changes.

Kevin,

The firmware you are showing is what I currently have installed

Please confirm that DJI Fly app is “force stopped” before using Map Pilot Pro (settings -> Apps & Notifications -> DJI Fly -> Force Stop)

Correct. I am not just swiping, but doing as above and "force stopping" the DJI app.

  1. Does deleting map pilot and re-installing the 1.5.3e APK file change anything?

Upgraded from an earlier version this morning to 1.5.3e. Then just deleted and reinstalled it again now. I went to test fly and was met with the same message. After a couple of times of acknowledging the message it did pop up long enough for me to upload the mission and then launch. However is would only get to a spot where it would take one or two pics and then freeze in midair until I would ask it to RTH. When it returns, I would get a message to change battery and do it all over again. This went on for about 6 times on the same battery and then seemed to finish it flight. Keep in mind this was only flying about 2 acres. A few times the following message came up:

Also not touching anything on the controller, and again the drone is not flying far. Only asking to map about 2 acres in this one.

  1. You mentioned these are "new units". Is your remote alerting about "bound to another account" when connected to the new drone by chance?

It is not. I have flown a few flight missions with MPP prior to this issue with no problems. I was excited since it worked much better than my older Mavic Pro.

My steps are typically a little different

  1. turn on remote
  2. go into the remote settings -> Apps & Notifications -> DJI Fly -> Force stop.
  3. Create new mission
  4. turn on drone
  5. "found aircraft : mini 3 pro" alert appears
  6. This is where the "Flight 0" message pops up
  7. If the message doesn't pop up too quickly, I can then upload>then follow prompts to launch.
  8. Then seems to either stall in air before getting to the first waypoint or get to that one and snap a couple of pics before just stopping in midair until I bring it back to land (I have let it sit in the same spot for 5 minutes to see if it would move and it did not)
  9. May then show the "Exited Programmed Flight" message on the controller
  10. Then I select RTH

I have also tried in the same order that you laid out, but as soon as the controller connects with the drone, I get the message about "Flight 0"

Again if I then open up the DJI app and fly around taking pictures and such, I have no issues with connection or telling me to change the battery.
