Map Pilot Pro Repeated Crashing

Hi there,

I'm experiencing a consistent issue with my phone and Map Pilot Pro. I'm using the enterprise APK for use with Mini 3 Pro, and the app is having some issues. It keeps crashing from the mission screen back to the main menu. This has happened frequently while I'm scrolling about on the map and setting up my mission parameters, but unfortunately it also has happened several times mid flight when nothing in particular is happening. After this happens I have to reload the mission from the main menu and resume from the aborted mission. I've closed all other apps and my phone is a OnePlus 8 Pro so I think it should have enough resources to handle the app. Any suggestions?

Thank you,

Richard

Hi, I have the very same issue with the enterprise APK. I have tried two different phones, after recovering to factory defaults - Google Pixel 4a and Xiaomi Redmi Note 12. Both "works" in the similar way - crashing a lot at the mission screen during the planning as well as in fly. App is unusable at all. Looks to me its not connected with Mini 3 Pro - If I choose different drone model at the setting screen (where the app sometimes crashes too) it doesnt have any effect and crashes continue...

Did you read the link and check your firmware versions? Choosing a different drone model isn't going to change anything. Once it connects to the aircraft that is the one is uses.

Interesting. Thank you Zane for linking me to that post, I hadn't seen it. A shame that DJI have got this bug in their SDK. I'll try reinstalling the app too, but I already have 1.4.2e so I'm not sure if it'll make much difference.

I am at the 1.4.2e, I have the correct firmware versions, I tested in on two different phones after resetting to factory defaults and it is still crashing.

Btw. "Once it connects to the aircraft that is the one is uses" I tested it without the controller, even without the DJI Fly app installed and it is still crashing.

Btw. Is the bug reported to DJI? I was looking at the SDKs github repo issues and it is not there.

The part about the Setting not making any difference was to say that it isn't going to change the aircraft if another one is connected. That isn't going to make a difference in the crashing. That is mobile device dependent.

The issue we are seeing for comes when the app tries to access USB devices. We need more data and testing to figure out what is actually going on before reporting anything. Plenty of flights are happening successfully so it appears to be a device/version related issue. This is only occurring for users attempting to connect to a Mini 3.

Is there any chance USB Debugging being on might help? It's off on my phone. I wonder if it might have been on on your test devices?

Nope. Per the DJI bug reports it will only work with the specified firmware versions and Android versions 7 through 11.

I've been trying to figure out which (if any) of my devices, both Android and iOS might be able to work without crashing. I don't want to do it right now, but if possible would it be OK to request at some point that you manually reset my device authorizations? I have 2 left right now, and all 3 of the currently registered devices either don't run the app at all/consistently crash. If the crashing is fixable I'll probably end up paying for a membership of some sort of this service once my trial ends, but I'm not prepared to wait 6 months for the ability to reset it myself.
