Augmented Reality

Tudor -

Augmented Reality - it's like real reality, but better.

Wikipedia defines Augmented Reality as follow:

"Augmented reality (AR) is a live direct or indirect view of a physical, real-world environment whose elements are augmented (or supplemented) by computer-generated sensory input such as sound, video, graphics or GPS data."

As recently made super popular by the game Pokemon Go, AR shows things that aren't really there by superimposing generated graphics over a real world view.

By pairing Drones Made Easy's offline terrain data with your aircraft's telemetry data, Tag Pilot is capable of keeping track of where real world objects are with respect to the aircraft. The locations of user defined tags are superimposed over the video feed to give the pilot extraordinary situational awareness in low-light operations or while using thermal imagers like the FLIR XT.

The yellow and blue User Tag circles on the left correspond to the yellow and blue circles on the right in the video feed.

The light and dark blue circles on the left correspond to the circles in the thermal video feed on the right. Thermal video is notoriously hard to navigate by so having user placable markers within the area of interest is a safer and more efficient way to operate.
