XZY Data Strange Values

I'm playing with xzy data file (Weihle_12-31-21) in Excel to compute the distance between each Lat/Long. Several issues

1. There are many groups of Lat and Long with the same value, so the change in distance is zero for many rows. Why do many rows have the same Lat or Long value?

2. The change in distance values (Longitude) standard deviation is an order of mag greater than the average value (mean=.105-cm, std dev=1.22-cm). Plus, the map output indicates 1.8cm/pixel which is much bigger than the average distance between Lat/Long. Is it even possible to manually calculate the distance between Lat/Long from the xyz or las files?

The plan is to build out an earthwork analysis and topographic volume change analysis with these data.

1. That would likely be a place of the reconstructed surface that has multiple intersections. It would be safe to ignore them.

2. There may be some quantization the those outputs. Basically rounding errors. I would recommend working with the DEM data instead.
