Volume Tool Freezing

Why does my interface with MME freeze when I attempt to measure a volume of a stockpile that is greater than a few thousand cubic meters?

My experience has been that any stockpile under 2000 cubic meters is ok, I only get the occasional freeze. Anything larger than that seems to freeze the program. I have been successful in measuring larger piles after many attempts, but leaves me wondering if there is something else I can do to facilitate smoother calculations?

Reduce the number of points of my polygon around the pile? Wont this affect accuracy?

Our internet is top notch at the office... so I don't think that's it (but it could be...).

I am curious. Please help. This is such an awesome tool and it does not seem right that large piles should cause the program to freeze.

Make sure you are not selecting areas that are outside the bounds of the reconstructed area that we provide. If you include areas that are out of bounds it will attempt to download elevation lookup tables that don't exist.

If one of the lookup tables is missing from your map for some reason we may need to reprocess it. It the tables are not available the tool will crash.

If you are making some really big measurements there can be quite a few files that get downloaded. We just did a test on one of your jobs and took a measurement around the whole perimeter and it took over a minute. Maybe you just need to give it more time.

We will attempt to give some sort of warning to this affect in the future.

I do not believe I have selected an area that is not on the immediately rendered map. Its just the really large stockpiles. If it takes longer to calculate/download files, I can understand that. Knowing this background process helps but Chrome goes weird if nothing happens for a period of time. The whole browser freezes.

I will keep on keeping on.
