Gimbal Angle Setting

How do I ensure that the camera will point down? Is it automatic or must I put it vertical manually prior to the flight mission?

The camera automatically points down when the aircraft takes off for the mission.

Not to add to Tudor's answer, but make sure the checkbox for "remain down to aid in landing" is checked in settings if you are landing FPV. Just a note from experience when I was testing all the settings and needed the camera to see landing area.... Otherwise you'll have to adjust the camera after mission.

When the "Remain Down to Aid Landing" switch is enabled, the camera will remain pointing down so you can see what is under the aircraft. There are crosshairs in the middle of the images so you can make fine landing adjustments.

If this setting this is unchecked, when the aircraft is done with a mapping run or the aircraft is summoned home with Go Home command, the gimbal will return to level and will remain there through the landing process.

In either setting the gimbal will automatically point down on takeoff.
