Flying over the 500m above take off point when mapping with terrain awareness

Hello, I'm new to this app and got here because I need to do a survey for a 450 ha plot of land with very steep terrain. It is located next to a lake, it is heavily forested and has very few take-off places which are exclusively located in the shoreline.

I bought Map Pilot because of the Terrain Awareness feature to ensure a contant overlap throughout the plot dispite the elevation changes. I'm planning to fly at 200-300m above AGL, but since I'm flying from the shoreline and there are places where either the ground is higher than 500m above my take off point or the drone will surpass that limit to maintain itself 200-300m AGL.

I don't have the chance to do some pre-flight tests at the moment and I'm wondering if the flight will be executed succesfully or the mission will be aborted when the drone reaches 500m above the take off elevation.

We MUST finish the survey within one day because of logistic and climatic restrictions and I must be a 100% shure that the survey will work.

You can always test things out using the Simulator feature. Plan your test flight, save it, and then run it connected to the aircraft using the Simulator.

It won't allow you to program any flight that exceeds 500 m above the takeoff location. Plan on the flight taking at least twice as long as is estimated if it is terrain aware.

To speed things up you should fly across the slope, not up and down it if possible. This will minimize elevation change, save battery and allow it to fly at the prescribed speed.

I'm using an iPad 5 with the 4.1.13 version but can't get to run the simulator, either with or without connection to the drone. Should I try with a newer mobile device maybe?

If it will run the DJI app and normally works with Map Pilot it should be fine.

The aircraft has to get a GPS fix to be able to run the Simulator. Open the saved mission so it shows the anticipated takeoff location (purple dot). Put it outside or at least by a window to make it show it gets the aircraft's location (red triangle). Then hit the Simulator button.
